The Programme

I have been blessed to have the privilege of experiencing the powerful inspiration as a mentee and as a mentor across various times and spaces over the decades. There is nothing quite like the dynamic two-way energy flow between the highly engaged mentor and mentee and the potential impact is nothing short of life-changing for both. We are excited to help spread the magic of access and connection by uniting enthusiastic mentees with passionate mentors to embark on an enlightening journey of personal and professional development, touching the quality of life for individuals and communities. The impact is REAL!

There is a rewarding opportunity for increased mentorship experiences here on Anguilla so we have crafted a program with the specific needs of youth and aspiring professionals, aged 18-35 years in mind.  The program allows for a unique approach which values flexibility in that tailored mentorship and guidance are provided personalized to the circumstances and preferences of both the mentee and the mentor.

One of the most important hallmarks of this program is that the collaboration should unite mentee and mentor in a comfortable and inspiring space of enlightened sharing and growth. Organic, two-way positive flow in a format that aligns with the lifestyles and goals of both mentee and mentor is encouraged. This program is not defined by overly structured obligation, but rather designed for personalization and flexibility, tailored to fit the unique connection.

Our Mentors

Our collection of dynamic and highly regarded mentors were carefully chosen, taking into account their professional acumen coupled with their demonstrated capability of critical managerial skills, passions and competencies and interests in adding value to others.

Mentors pledge to:

  • Provide a comfortable, yet inspiring environment for personal and professional growth.
  • Provide necessary perspective/feedback that encourages the mentee to enhance their critical analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Support the development of mentee confidence and personal brand
  • Reflect/demonstrate positive attitudes, principles and life skills that encourage role modeling for mentees.

Mentees pledge to:

  • Communicate expectations and desired outcomes to mentors to serve as a foundation for their tailored approach.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to explore, learn and cultivate positive principles and habits.
  • Be willing to actively assess oneself, acknowledge areas for improvement and willing to take the action steps necessary for improvement
  • Embrace a path of life-long independent learning including incorporating a regular practice for their preferred mode of self-development, using resources such as books, audio books, podcasts, courses, master classes and networking opportunities.
  • Select a charitable cause of their preference to give back of their time and talents to vulnerable individuals or groups within their community.

Our Team

JanineConnects.com is delighted to have as a pivotal member of its team, Nandi Edwards, a third year Health Sciences Major pursuing Pre-Med studies at Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada. As an exceptionally motivated academic, an avid traveller, and a multi-talented young adult, Nandi’s mandate as Program Innovation Officer is to research and create value-added activities, while continuously building and sharing useful learning resources to fuel and support the mentorship experience of optimising personal and professional development. Passionate about mentoring, Nandi successfully attained a spot as a Queen’s Mentor at Queen’s University, to assist first year students in their transition from secondary to tertiary education. Nandi also serves to bring youthful perspective and insight to the management effort to keep programs relevant and engaging for our dynamic mentees.
